Built on a foundation of architectural rigor and a cloud-native tech stack, Ninja Van leverages AI-powered orchestration and proprietary routing algorithms to manage the distribution of over 2 million parcels daily.

The challenge

Ninja Van’s cross-border reverse logistics relied on inefficient manual processes. Teams across six countries struggled with a lack of parcel visibility, complex routing rules, and communication gaps, leading to delays, errors, and a poor experience for shippers.

Inefficient Manual Process Across Borders
With different fulfillment rules in each country, it was impossible to standardize operations. This forced local teams to rely on fragmented manual processes, such as updating spreadsheets and notifying shippers by hand, which created significant inefficiencies and errors in routing and resolution.
No Visibility into Reverse Logistics
Once a parcel failed delivery, it was not tracked properly within the system. This lack of visibility created a black box for both internal teams and shippers: delayed resolutions, an increased risk of lost packages, and an inability to provide accurate updates.
Disconnected Shipper Experience
Shippers had no direct control or transparency over the resolution process for failed deliveries. They had to rely on manual updates from account managers, creating a frustrating, reactive experience that lacked the self-service tools expected in modern logistics.
